iStyle

This project is a digital product existing in the year 2070. In this speculative future, tech paradigms converged to change the fashion industry forever. The project conveys the design of a tech ecosystem, conceptualized to reduce fashion waste by empowering the users individual style.  This project was realized in collaboration with my classmate Parmis Rabet.

Future Fashion

PROBABLE

The fashion industry addresses industrial waste, through the use of technology.

Rapid production technologies continue replacing craft methods of production

timeline2.png
timeline2.png

Smaller, precise, and affordable sensors are embedded into fashion products.

Virtual prototyping takes over. Products don't need to go into production before they are wanted by the consumer

Manufacturing is more connected to the final consumer via IoT and Analytics.

Brands are able to collect precise user data. User optimized products kill mass market

Ai Driven Generative Design powered by user preferences

PLAUSIBLE

As rapid manufacturing tech advances, brands can start vertically integrating. Thanks to ioT , Ai enabled customer feedback

Material science innovation disrupt the industry. 3D printed leather, and other sustainable fibers take over the market.

Blockchain, cloud computing, Ai, Data collections converge to allow all info about all products to be known to the final user

timeline1.png

Transparency of supply chain means consumers know the impact of the products they buy

Direct to consumer sales of custom products eliminate need for inventory

Brick and Mortar shopping is completely replaced by VR shopping

Research Phase 2:  A look into Probable and Plausible advances in the fashion industry.

Concept

Framework ReVisioning: What is possible, within that tech paradigm? Can items be valuable when their true cost is known? Can cost be more than monetary? We think so.

concept1lowtrans.png

Sensors are on everything. And they keep track of all data.

Every bit of data about any item is always known.

Blockchain-Meets Fashion-Fashion Meets Blockchain.

There is total transparency (about origins, material, lifespan etc.) of all items all the time. Thank You Big Data, Thank You IoT.

concept2lowtrans.png

Transparency of origin for fashion goods means a value in True Cost Points can be awarded based on the impact of each item.

These points assign value beyond monetary worth.

These points become a currency for the users. They ad up, if the item is Recycled, Reused and Repurposed, or Repaired.

These points subtract when something is made to be sold as a new item. The True Cost is more than the monetary cost.

concept3lowtrans.png

Through VR users can try on any hyper customized product- virtually.

Brands can offer endless possibilities, and test all products before any of them are made.

AR allows users to go about their lives and Live Shop when in close proximity to an item they like, as well as eWindow shop in digital only stores.

concept4lowtrans.png

The Ai knows and learns user preferences. It manages all transactions and delivers all products automatically.

Ai communicates with the user and with all objects.

Ai helps the user make the the best transaction decisions: True Cost Points are used for renting, swapping, repairing and selling any item in the system.

Ai is compatible with all wearables and implanted technology.

Xenia is ready to look at the style plan for her upcoming trip

“ Show me the style plan”

AI: How about this one? This coat has no visible pockets, it’s a more minimalist style

Xenia uses voice command and hand gesture:

(Using the index finger and swiping from clockwise)

I really like that one. Let’s see the next outfits please.

AI:

For sure!

Rain gear is an

absolute must during this trip.

Shows Xenia outfit1

Xenia uses Voice commands:

What is the True Cost for the new items on the Style Plan?

AI: The boots are made of cactus leather. They have about 100 hours of wear left, before the upper part degrades.

You can keep them for $80, as they will only be good for the amount of time you are on your trip.

You will earn 500 points when they reach the repurposeing plant.

Xenia Gestures left hand “thumbs up” and uses voice commands:

 ok,

Approve the style plan: take a swap on the coat, and buy the boots.

AI: automatically

orders the items (pays and sets up delivery to home)

-Schedules a pick up at end of

Xenia’s trip

AI: The raincoat is swapped from a

LESLIE 001

It is made from 100% recycled PVC. It is lined with moisture wicking material, which is biodegradable.

If you purchase it, the price for it is $200, and You will loose 10,000 points. If you rent it, then swap it at the end of your trip, the coat will only cost you  $50, and you’ll earn 4,000 points.

Xenia: what are other options of rain coats? I want something with fewer pockets. Maybe more minimalist.
